Fall Wine Memories PDF Print E-mail

The air is turning colder, the leaves are changing color, and the holidays are approaching, for serious wine drinkers, this is a very exciting time of year.

Nothing is better to warm up with on a cool night than a big bold glass of Cabernet or a nice spicy Zinfandel. The holidays also present alot of great wine drink oppurtunities with the great varieties of foods often found on holiday tables. To me it's an exciting time because of the opputunities to gather with friends and family, to share great bottles of wine and create new memories. This is also a very exciting time of year for me here in the store. I've gotten to taste some very special bottles of wine recently, and have taken advantage of some great buying oppurtunities, to bring in some limited amounts of what I think can be very exciting wines this holiday season for my customers, in addition to the limited yearly releases of Bogle Phantom, Seghesio Zinfandel, Cline Small Berry Mouvedre, and the soon to be arriving Saintsbury Garnet Pinot Noir. We have recently added to our inventory two incredible Chateauneuf Du Pape wines, 2001 Mas de Boislauzon Cuvee du Quet(91pts Wine Advocate) and 2003 Domaine Lafond Roc Epine(90pts Wine Advocate). From California we added the 2004 Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet(91pts Wine Enthusiast) and the unbelieveable 2006 Gary Farrell Sauvignon Blanc Redwood Ranch(90pts Wine Enthusiast). We also were able to bring in the Stoller "JV" Pinot Noir from Oregon(90pts Wine Advocate), as well as obtaining the last few bottles of a bargain gem 2000 Vintage Port from Gould Campbell(92pts Wine Advocate). I am excited about all these wines and many others in the store. These wines are very limited, in fact with some of them we only able to get a few bottles, but I guess that is part of what makes them special. For most of thes wines, reviews are available under the "New Wine Arrivals" section of our website. If you would like me to set any aside for you, feel free to email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or give me a call here at the Worcester store. Remember, wine is about stories and memories, and part of the reason that this is my favorite time of year is that I get to help my customers create some memories of thier own. i look foward to seeing you in the store this holiday season.
