Ellyn's Pick Chateau du Pin Bordeaux
Chateau du Pin Bordeaux
This is one of the best buys that we have discovered, among a number of very good wines our staff has sampled over the last several months from the acclaimed 2009 vintage. Delivering cherry, green pepper and mineral scents, this medium-bodied, eminently drinkable red has plummy, herbal, toasty flavors and smooth tannins.

Ellyn's Pick Annabella Pinot Noir
Annabella Pinot Noir
Anything made by Michael Pozzan is worth trying and this excellent wine is a great value! The grapes come from a Northern California vineyard renowned for making top-flight, very expensive Pinot Noir (which sells for $10 more per bottle than Annabella)! The aromas are filled with strawberries and vanilla and the gorgeous flavors are of bing cherry, cinnamon and herbs.

Chris's Pick 2010 Chateau de Campuget Rose'
Chateau de Campuget Rose'
Chris's Pick
It's Rose' season, YAY! This rose' is a blend of 30% Grenach Noir and 70% Syrah.
Peony pink in color, it's bouquet is very aromatic, exhaling scents of small red fruits such as raspberries, black currants and wet stone. Perfectly balanced between the vivacity and it's mellowness on the palate...very long, delicate finish. Anyone that knows me, knows this, I'm crazy for dry Rose' and this is one of my favorites! I sip as I cook and it's my "cold supper" night wine for when the weather turns too hot to cook.

Heidi's Pick- Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay
I fell in love with this wine years ago, when it was only available to restaurants. As soon as we received it in the store, I bought a bottle and it was love all over again!!
This wine displays all the quintessential characteristics of the chardonnay varietal. Apple, butter and toasted oak all enveloped in a creamy texture. There are so many other layers of flavor wrapped up in there but, you owe it to yourself to discover them on your own. If you love chardonnay, then you must try Sonoma-Cutrer.

Heidi's Wine Pick for June
Summer means seafood and seafood means light, bright white wine.
Anytime someone asks me for a wine and seafood pairing I autimatically go to Saint-Peyre Picpoul de Pinet.
It has a great citrus nose, melon and pear on the palate and a perfectly crisp, balanced body.
So, don't even think about steaming a lobster, grilling oysters or sauteing scallops without a bottle or two of Picpoul in the fridge!
